user posted imageBack in the early days of the dance music scene, before Onion magazine, before Windows 95, back when you needed a shopping trolley to carry your mobile phone in, a magazine boasting Adelaide's dance music scene and street culture was born. That magazine was The CORE.

The CORE became the foundation for the beginning of Adelaide's scene which has since grown to what we know it as today. Thanks to the father of Core magazine, Acb Tyson, we have an extensive list of issues available for download exclusive to anthems.com.au

Here is a letter by popular DJ from 12.5 years ago...

The CORE - Letters Page - 9 September 92 #46

Pink Bear,

I want to be spanked on the bottom and fed dog biscuits. I want to be covered in pig fat and have my nostril hairs pulled out. I want little green men to cover my toes in fluro zinc cream. And I want Quantum Leap to become the national-anthem.

To fellow toyland adventurer,

Just a quick letter to say hello to 5 to 10 fruits mainly. Especially my fellow partner in law enforcement, office sergeant Big Ears: our cover is fine. Remember, it grows on trees and chill, we know the meaning. Megs, the rug was bad but the lawn was nice and thats all that matters. A big hello to Jo, Darren, Greg, Michelle, Peter and all the other Palm World Ice People. When's the reunion? HC, I hope you weren't disappointed that your car remained clean and how many tiles were really in the bathroom? Nola, your blood is on my pants, but who are you? Duncan, have you found the deposit on your front post? It must remain and please wear the hat next week.
Yours toyfully,

Noddy

(formerly MC Donald)
PS. Jody beware of your phone, it needs its 5 to 10 fruits mainly.
PPS. Lin, look after the toys, more will arrive soon.

Was just chatting to another 29 year old about Core Magazine and Pulse and all kinds of early 90's fare. Thanks, I'll enjoy these downloads immensely.

Is it possible to get these downloads without "anthems.com.au" added in down the bottom of every page. I'd like to print these all out for a scrap book and the 2005 repititious advertising kinda kills the early 90's authenticity.

Kinda like the anthems On A Harder Tip advert added to my post, "not as it really was", lol. Won't actually be able to make it as I'm hosting Mampi Swift @ Black Cat that night but anyone wanting to take in both send me an email and I'll hook up Anthemers up with a discount on the door (capacity permitting) so thay can come on over later in the night. Have fun everyone :-)

The CORE magazine! Oh my God! How's that for yesteryear! I'll NEVER forget... catching the train home from work one summer's day, many moons ago, reading The CORE, must of touched my face (?) a few times (?) on the journey home, walked home, and happened to look in the mirror a while later, and had black ink all over my face! And no-one told me, I looked like a dick! Noiiice! All class!

The CORE began when it all began. Onya Paul, thanks for giving the rest of us who don't (or can't?!) let go, a chance to go back to where it all began... that's when it all started for me... See you on the dancefloor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

And it's not over yet...

Yeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D  :P :P :) :)      :o :o   ;) ;) B) B)  B) B)
