Hey Guys!

How's this for a dampner on a great night...

My mobile phone (a sony ericson handset worth about $900) mysteriously 'disappeared' last night from a box of belongings that were stored in the corner of a booth... Was well covered by jackets... but not well enough...

Lucky no one's wallets or cameras were taken, but still guys, just a reminder to REALLY watch your stuff... Not the first time this has happened to people at events like this, but a real disappointment 'cause i really do love the ark, and it was a fantastic night...

If anything else goes missing, or if anything is found, perhaps put it in this thread, you never know, some items MAY be recovered. In anycase, keep a watchful eye cause I'd hate for any one of you to have this happen!

i saw a phone running down teh stret wearinga black cap and nikes!!!! he went thattta away!!!! ======> good luck!

thru my job i find heaps of stuff cash cameras phones cds wallets sun glasses etc.. honesty is always a good policy... but at huge events the chances of it being returned are low....

sad to say it but honesty is not a trait shared by all.

good luck hope these items turn up!

Gees that sucks! Its shows that some people can not be trusted. It really gets to me hearing how people do these types of things. Im with Paul i dont leave anything lying around only at home with my certain group of mates. Gees a couple of them have my pin code for my key card!
I hope it turns up for you

STEALING - Ive been wondering about this lately. A lot of people I know think it's wrong to steal from people and would'nt do it. However, they think nothing of swiping stuff from work or stealing music etc via net or pinching from business & companies. Even chipping your game consoles and buying dodgy pirate dvd's is stealing. This also hurts people, but in a less direct way. Hmmmm.

This is true but one little bite to the corporate giant compared to one little thing that means a huge deal to a tight-ass uni student is different (and cruel !!!)

Either way, phone is long gone... very upset about the whole thing, but i guess thats life way of saying never trust technology,...

i think there is a huge difference between stealing from a person (or small companie) and stealing from a larger companie that is making huge profits.

i know alot of people that steal from large companies, and while i dont approve of their behavior, i am glad that they are not taking from random people or small companies. and i am certainly glad they are not stealing from people they know.

sorry to hear ur phone was stolen candy_cat, thats real shitty and low to steal somthing like that at such a great event.

Stealing is stealing, no exceptions. Regardless of how much profit a company makes, theft is theft.

no i do completly agree that stealing is wrong
but i think that it is worse to steal from a smalll companie or a person who has a smaller income than from a large companie that can afford to lose abit of their income

Yeah I see what your saying, and yeah I guess you are right. I Mean, most larger companies make allowances for lost/stolen stock in there general pricing schemes! bastards. Why should us honest folk have to pay extra to cover the $$ they lose from little shits that flog stuff?

And DelusionL.... does your employer know/allow you to clean your own car when your at work? If they do know, and allow it, then of course it isn't stealing.

If your not meant to do it, then yeah I class that as stealing, but on a lesser scale than what I was referring to in my above post wink.gif

i think its a 'given' that we all detail our cars during work hrs or after work using work items...

after 4 yrs (48-55hrs a week) there i think i deserve a few perks wink.gif

but i agree with what u are saying. i was just chucking in somthing to make it interesting... to show theres sizes and degrees of everything...

buzzn
nah, can't say i agree at all there.
like kandii said before

stealing is stealing.

there are no degrees of stealing. its either your's by right, so you are not stealing, or you make it your's through wrong means, so you are stealing. regardless of what/where/how/why.

the sizes and degrees would refer to the level of empathy (a very powerful/influential experience i believe) you feel towards the person and their action.

and if its a given that you'd work on your own cars, or is a perk, then its not stealing because they are allowing you to do so! so you're in the clear DelusionL (as least in my books! hehe!).
Oldskoolie
The question is Del.... Does your work mind that you do it? Surely they must know.
DeL
ok good my concious is clear and shiny.... kinda like my paint after doing a meguiars diamond cut and gold polish....
