for those considering entering, DON'T FUCKING BOTHER!!!!!
and heres my reasons why..................
1st reason: being judged by a guy who couldn't hold a beatmix together (first mix he did after my set was absolutely WRONG, and was the catalyst for a mini exodus from the venue!)
2nd reason: don't let the lure of a few free drinks blind you............the drink cards are only given to people djing on the night (wtf??!?!!??!) and NOT people competing, so whatever you have been told - forget it!!!
3rd reason: watching 3 guys in a row beatmix, and just beatmix, with no effort or attempt to scratch, use volume controls, or even drop in samples, then coming in stone motherless, after speaking to the guy who won the heat who just happened to say that he "wasn't going to win because i did nothing to impress"............but he played tarantula, so the lesson to be learned after all this is, play tarantula and win!!!!
at the end of the day, who really gives a toss, but for those thinking of entering, do not waste your time and effort, as there are far more transparent and rewarding competitions to enter - ie heinekens comp
now this all sounds like sour grapes, i'm sure, but who gives a fuck........i'm just well pissed off about the drinks thing - must be a cheap way to fill up the first 2 hours of a club night, get the DJs in, give em nothing, and let them entertain!!
