I do fear the highway patrol cars, bloody V8 SS' with more mods than you can poke a stick at..

how about the TWIN turbo WRX vic police cars.. apparently used to chase bikes.. they freak me out too

but yes, would be nice to have a smooth road instead of high powered cop cars..

The worst Police vehicle to see approaching you with their discotheque lights is a moto, cos you know you are not getting away from them

yeah most of those cops cant even handle those high powered cars anyway.

it is true that in a fair amount of instances the cars/modifications and paint work is donated in full or part... promo's for the donators etc. and as nice as it would be to have better roads than better cop cars they aren't likely to allow the donation funds to go to signs on the roads but it's easy to paint a little add on a car!

You would choke if you found out how much cheaper they buy these cars under fleet deals. When they go to auction after 12 months or less of service, the govt lose very little over the original purchase price.

but they are not exactly the cars you want to buy.. they are pretty knocked about..

apparently in NSW the cops have just acquired a couple new Evo 9 lancers aswell....

Some of the best cars I have bought for myself and friends have been ex highway patrol cars. Sure, they get a hiding for 6 to 9 months as a higway patrol car, but my skylines have had the f*ck thrashed out of them for 7 years!

Highway patrol cars rack up high kms quickly so typically 9 months and its all over. The sort of thrashing you give a car on the highway is nowhere near as harsh as the curb hopping, burnout around every corner, nasty 2 year stint that city patrol cars get.

You just have to know what to look for

thats what I meant, wasn't thinking of the highway patrol cars at that time..

They also have a black VY SS which does hills runs up near chain of pods and the likes which i have seen around.

This one has no markings only the little lights on the dashboard.
