Classic Adelaide Rally

Hey guys and girls,

The Classic Adelaide Rally is almost upon us again.

It takes place on the 16th to the 20th November and is held mainly through out the Adelaide hills and surrounding areas. It all starts on Wednesday with "Prologue" which is held around parts of the old Grand Prix Track. And from there on it will be held on closed roads around the state.

There will be a street party on Friday night in Gouger Street where you can get close to the cars and drivers and have a look at what is competing. This year Ferrari are bring heaps of cars over as part of there birthday celebrations.

I again will be driving my white Lancer Evolution II as a course car, probably in the position of "Follower 4". My girlfriend who is also on this forum, (elf) will be co-driving for me also. It would be good to see some of your faces around the place and if you get video footage of us, We would love to meet up and get a copy at some stage!

I hope plenty of you come out and enjoy one of the biggest tarmac rallys in the world

I'll be at the street party as i am every year. Its a great night in Gouger St and its good to get up close and personal with some of the cars and drivers. Last year i got to have a few wines with Murray Walker, and the year before Eric Banna.... The atmosphere is great. And a great place for the anthems team to promote the anthems brand.

classic adelaide rally goes straight past my place, they close of the bloody road.. so i've always gone out for the day. but i think i may watch this year

I'm guessing your not Co-Driving again this year Alex????

I dont know if you'll spot my car easier with an anthems sticker on it whilst I'm driving past, but it may help if parked near the street party again..

Might just have to send me a couple wink.gif

The only person from last year that i know isn't doing it is Troy...

well we have a drivers briefing again on thursday so that should be interesting...

as long as your not in Shane's position that he had last year, you'll be okay laugh.gif I might help out next year, depending on exams and what not..

Yeah thats kewl... I should have a new car by then anyways...

I've got Jims position from last year, but some others with no Motorsport experience have caged positions I believe, which is Bullshit!!!

I could always do a shane and let my fire extinguisher go off in the boot!!!

Hey Foonji... if im really quiet and dont make a scene can i watch da pretty cars go past ur house from ur garden ill bring food and drink???

I prefer bikes but classic adelaide is good not just the ford vs holden, its good 2 c a variety.

AND im happy to promote anthems... we can do what you lot did to foonji and put lots of stickers on my clothes and wee-ooo!!! i'd be so bright they can use me as an arrow to make sure ppl go ROUND the corner and NOT into ppls drive way.... hahaha

In that case it would probably be on the saturday or sunday. I havent got my road book yet, but once i do, I'll try and work it out!

I should be "follower 1" which should be approx after the first 10 cars or so!

Alex,

on thursday it goes through Upper Hermitage, Chain of Ponds, morning tea @ Gummeracha, then Gummeracha, Lunch @ Tanunda, Flamenco Park, Checker Hill, Mt Bera and Corkscrew. Allthough I believe Corkscrew may have been cancelled due to the road being damaged with the floods last week.

Been flat out fixing car. Both ECU and fuel pump shit them selves, causing car to run dangerously lean. All fixed now, but heaps tired!!! bring on the boost....

he is a course car Micheal, Classic Tour Follower 1, a white EVO 2 or sumthin..

i drove past it on sunday, would have love to stop and take a look, but my partner had to go to work so we didn't have time.

was it any good?

well I had a great time....!

Driving on closed roads with crowds watching with video cameras and normal cameras taking pics.... what wouldn't I have to enjoy....!
