Why Are anthems People So Snobby?

i have never been to an anthems, but i have seen anthems people about at other raves and events. and what i'd like to know is why are they so darn snobby. ive counted numerous times where i'd see them at a rave eg enchanted, in their own small little group looking at everyone else but not talking to them, an looking generally snobby! i saw one guy look at me an then look at his mates an laugh too! and then at winter enchanted when i went to get a drink i was clearly in line before this other guy and he pushed in an when i complained he told me he was there first an to get lost! now im too scared to go to an anthems coz everyone will snob me off!

well I can only speak from my own experience, but having met a lot of them last weekend I found them all really friendly and welcoming... maybe you just need to give them a chance??

I can't believe my eyes they are burning :) We aren't an 'exclusive' group. We're a (VERY) large, open circle of friends. if you come up and say hi it's not like we'd being going 'who's that weird guy' it's like 'HEY! How you doing, nice to meet ya!'

Dear anthems team. Why do people stare at us anthemites when we're in a group? Why dont they come and say hello if they want to be a part of it. My crystal ball is broken and im having trouble with my ESP too. I just want to cry. We are a friendly bunch arent we? We are always more than happy to talk to, or help out anyone when they are in need!!! We give the whole world ample opportunity to get free tix to almost all of our events... We are far from snobby :)

Excuse my sarcasm, We are the friendliest promo team in town, thats for sure. Im glad you hae brought the way you feel to our attention given_to_fly. Perhaps we will make extra effort to out-nice ourselves. If you see one of us next time you come out, i beg you to come and say hi! You'll wish you had earlier... Keep smiling!

How did u know they were all anthems people anyway? A group of ppl all with anthems stickers on them doesn't mean they are part of anthems, it just means we've been there with our rolls of little smiles and plastered them :D

Hey were not snobby i take photos of people at our partys for our website and talk to all sorts of people its great its part of what makes being in the team fun you can talk to anyone and not need a reason. we really are friendly just introduce yourself to one of us you will see. I have to agree with Davin tho we do plaster everyone with stickers now would someone thats a snob do that. :D introduce yourself at the next party and i will grab a happy snap. :lol:

I'm one of only a few with the anthems t-shirts.....there aren't that many yet..... give us time though hehe. I don't wanne be rude, but I think ur suffering a bout of paranoia. The people with the shirts are generaly the more involved ones, and are usually the first to show the anthems luvin :)

THis is one of the friendliest groups on the net, so just relax and put those fears outside ur head

id suggest u actually meet the anthems crew before stating such an opinion

as perceptions u feel at such events as Enchanted Forest could actually not be realily ur experienceing

.. heh.. sometimes i worry i come across snobby.. but i'm really shy.. until ya get a drink.. or 2.. or 3 into me.. n then ya cant shut up.. and i kno alot of people like that.. but most of them arent anthems members.. infact the first time i met alot of the anthems people i was surprised that people could talk that much to people they'd only just met.. they've helped bring me outta my shell.. n now i'm just as noisey as they are

all the anthemites i've ever met have been the biggest champs.. so come talk to us.. we mite just surprise you

lol well from a couple of posts in this bit we culd look slightly snobby, saying wer nicer than .. but it is true!! the ppl iv met in here are incredible!!

we have all come from our different places, and these are truelly genuine ppl

please try and come to venus tomoro, its not an actual anthems event but hopefully it will get a good turn out, coz iv been making a bit of a thing about it..

i always find new ppl to chat with in bathrooms at raves.. guys an gurls

i duno, but for me its easier to get em cornered, then you face em in the mirror and u just get this urge to have a 20 min conversation on i dnt kno wat.. geez i wulda shown you that anthemites can make a good fool of em selves to strangers if i had gone to EF...

If someone pushes infront of you in a line, you dont have to take it, push back infront of them... actually nah dont do that we dont want no fighting over a minutes wait now do we!!!

And if we by chance didnt realise we pushed in front, and it was a true anthems person, then im sure we'd very easily step aside and let you through...

The anthems crew are very unique. I have never seen so many ppl willing to help out people they dont even know yet!!! WE dont bite... we just nibble at bit... if you come out to Venus im 100% sure we will prove you wrong... but i can also assure you that we wont be standing there waitiing for an appology either... thats just not us... We'll smile and pass it off.. and the best thing about anthems... not only do you get an instant family who some of these people will go extremely out of their way for you, but we'll hug you and have lots of laughs and fun with you...

Now where could you ask for a better bunch of loveable crackpots than that!!!

im sorry for what you have experienced, but i believe that you have not trully met our freakin fantastic friends...

what the hell, are these ppl trying to fill ur head with the fact that we are saints???? damn these are the snobbiest bunch in all the world.....lol...naa not really...

the first time i went to an anthems thing was amazing, i just told ppl my online name and man.... never been hugged and kissed so much in my life..... and it took me and morph over half an hour to leave....

but i will say this, u say we are snobby for not coming to u?? well u knew we were anthems ppl why didnt u come up to us.... i dont think we should go up to every person everytime we go out, if that was the case all we would be doing was going to say hi and not actually enjoying the nite... so i think ur just as guilty... ok!

but u will find that ppl here will bend over backwards to help out whenever we could...i had fo_sho_man help me move my car and he had only met me once for a few minutes, i had foonji come up to me in the shop and he had only seen me once, it took a minute to click who it was, i hadnt even spoken to him b4 that, i had tarantula come to BB with me and keep me company. the list goes on and on.... so dont judge ppl on what happens at clubs, we are pissed and just chillin ok....

There wasn't a great deal of people with anthems shirts at Enchanted - about 5, from memory.. and those 5 didn't hang around in a group as such for more than about 10 minutes at a time - who knows though

I'll have to introduce myself to you tomorrow night, and possibly buy you a drink if I'm feeling extra generous

Hey man, i WOULD like to say yes, we are snobby but only to members of RA as they are towards us, and like we're not even snobby to them and they're not to me thats all i could think of. In general ravers are madly accepting people and really awsome to befriend, and mate if you see me at a rave bloody say hello please for god sake say hello i garentee i will not laugh at you i'll most likely give you a big ass hug, and when at a rave even RA members and anthems members all get along we only snobby on the internet coz no1 can see us

I must say the anthemites i have met in my short period on the team have been awsomely accepting, realy talkitive, friendly and outgoing people. sometimes they find themselves wraped up in their own little world of convosations, but that is mostly because they are meeting new anthemites and spreading the anthems love...

As for me personaly, i may come off snobbish at times, but that is usualy because i am shy and it takes a little while for me to get to know somone. I am the guy who sits at the edge of convosations listening untill something of interest to me comes up... but if you see me (or any of the other anthems crew) feel free to come up and say hi!

just dont expect me to remember your name... i cant remember names to save my life (sorry)

this bunch of people are some of, if not THE nicest bunch of people that i have had the pleasure of associating with. have never felt out of place or unwanted at anything that i have attended/been involved with, with the anthems crew......and the best part of all, is i consider that i have made some lifelong friends out of anthems.
now come join us at venus, and experience the hot sweaty glowing lovefest that is anthems!!!!!!!

i don't think any of us anthemites are snobs.. i havent met very many of them, but those i have are very friendly.

i must admit tho, when you first start raving it can be a bit intimidating. just try letting your guard down. go up to ppl and talk to them, more often then not, they'll say hello right back. Don't wait for other ppl to come up to you, make the first move.

I promise.. we wont bite.. except PaulHammon... but that's another thread altogether!!

Yeah, I agree- Ive only met a few anthemites but theyve been great and are great for hugs towards the end of the night when you have blisters on your blisters and your bf still wants to dance

i just gotta say me and shagsy have not been in anthems that long, and the first event we went to was the first cargo anthems. and we had an absolute ball. the anthems people are the most genuine bunch of people i have met and what a great group to be involved in. everyone we met made us feel welcome and it took us about half an hour to leave cus everyone wanted 2 say goodbye. im really happy we joined. and if you have had a bad experience with anthems then im very sorry. i can assure you thats un usual. i know all the people we have met in anthems would make you welcome no matter who you are. if i come accross you at an anthems event ill talk to you and i know shagsy will do the same.

Boosting head to venus from 9pm onwards u will find us generally at the first table to the right as u walk in.. RIGHT NEAR THE BAR.... tends to be our usual spot always 10-20 of us there. check out the people who post the most for a pic in their contact card then come up and say hi... or just look for me usually the only long red headed male in sight and ill do a quick intro to the others. im gernerally there from 9onwards.

i have been around awhile and been to many raves especially those early 90's ones and since i have been to a few anthems raves i can say that we are all friendly people and would never snob anyone off and i have meet lots of new people and seen many i have not seen for years and all though i cant get to all the events people still say hi at the events i do attend

I doubt he really thinks anthems people are snobby he most likely hasn't made an effort to say hello. I guess the hardest thing from a newbie's point of view is trying to identify the anthems people if you don't know any of them. This is not a gripe but just a point of view from a newbie. Now 3 mths later and miles away in Cairns I still consider them all to be the best people in the world and still feel the love, baby!! So, snobby...no. yep i definatly agree with this, wen i first met ppl from anthems was at (1)NE in the middle of the year some time....and i was a little nervous....but i had spoken to paul and foonji on msn and a few others too, so i came along with a friend of mine who had joined anthems too (chikko) and we came and met heaps of anthemites.....i was a bit nervous at first....but i recognised heaps of ppl from their contact cards and delusionL babysat me for a lot of the night
