Summer Enchanted

just curious to what you all think of the idea of having Summer Enchanted at Port Gawler again. i'm sure that with enough weight in numbers behind us we could convince somebody important to make it happen?! Or am i just living in a dream...

sound restrictions is the major problems

everyone loves an outdoor rave

but its not always possible

if there was a better location....then yeah...a change is always a good thing

but sound restrictions are the major pain

..and there is only so far ppl will drive for a rave

i would drive further if they made it known where it is... with enough notice alot of people would drive further i think... especially if the line up was good enough.... and it's enchanted FOREST... i think they should get in touch with that!

I'd do the drive for sure.

The venue is ok accept for the dust storm at around 8am. Its big enough to dance where ever you want and the big mounds were pretty cool too. I wouldn't mind if it was there again i would go for sure. I washed a bucket full of dust out of my hair and clothes but it was a night to remember.

.. but if the venue was right, I'd go anywhere, even if the drive was an hour or so.

To be honest half the fun of a rave is the leadup .. excitement, preperation, pre-party (possibly), and getting there with your friends.

If I merely showed up to raves they would be no-where near as exciting .. give me a big lead-up and even a long road-trip and I'll be happy, even if the rave itself is only semi-decent

i totally agree with you there! love the lead up to a big event!

...that sucks, because a place like that will only be 'fresh' for so long....would be good to see it at a different and exciting venue each year, but yeah, noise restrictions and the like - and Adelaides backward thinking majority - will make it next to impossible....

I'd just love to see EF in a Forest for once...or at least somewhere green!!!! No Enchanted Dustbowl

Port gawler is all good. Bit chilly, being near the ocean, and the dust storms are a bit annoying. But all in all, I had a wicked time.

Pt Gawler i think ive been to 5 times now? hmmm...i still think it goes off cause they change the set up everytime & you still dont know what to expect when u arrive

...no dust bowl compares to the sedan one tho *gags*

well i went to the 2004 one there and it was fun but you can only have so much fun in a big bowl of dirt & dust.

for me enchanted forest was the EF2 in cape jarvis in 99. lots of trees is the key for me. vegitation means less mud and crap. havent been to a forest rave since then however going to a rave in the ruins of a monestary here in canada last year was very cool!

i will be back for the summer enchanted, however i dont think ill go unless its in a new venue.

Port Gawler 2004 had a better setup then last year imo, but id like to have it out at sedan again......only cause its closer to moi

sedan is 20min from me.

although I didn't go I have heard nothing good from anyone about the Sedan venue....apparently dust and massive prickles everywhere...doesn't sound too enchanting to me

word! although, it does matter who's playing, but in all honesty, the enchanted boys never disappoint, so thats never really something I worry about.


Sedan was my first Enchanted. It was alright.... but yeah, very dusty, hard to get into, lots of cars were damaged that weekend!

I like Pt Gawler as a location. Its easy to get to, not too far from home, and its the perfect size to cater for the enchanted crowd

FARK YEAH!!! i agree!! the (or any) night is what u make of it...the ppl around u...the tunes surrounding u & that feeling u get when u have not a care in the world except for the scientist on stage concocting & inventing their mix & what it does to ur feet & ur soul

BUT i also agree with TCB too..that EF ('99) to me epitomised the experience of an outdoor party.... but as we seem to live in a large retirement village with increasingly backward thinking that is on the decline (IMO) the opportunity to have a rave such as '99 & the Old Adl Gaol for example is virtually (sadly) non existent we have to make the most of what we have when we have it.
Only our colective spirit(s) will keep the party alive...if we forget that & the reason(s) we are going then we shouldn't be going anywhere anyways..

Yeah i'm a lil 'over' Pt Gawler, most of us prob are...who knows maybe even the EF Crew are also!?!...but every year they pour their souls into the institution that is EF & deal with all the head f's thrown at them from 'the man', but they prevail & provide us a place to let go & be as one under the stars-for this we must applaud & thank them!! & if it does end up at Pt Gawler once again-ce la vie!
U want a summer rave all night under the stars or not? Thought so! put it this way-at least we all know how to get there & where the best places to, sit, park & dance are

Ponde is good but WAY too much of a slope to crank on...i learnt my lesson at Stardust & EF + the last ride home from there was far from memorable so id prefer not to drive out that way

Seeing the sun rise through my red glasses from the back of the 'dance floor' on the 1st Sat'day of December has been part of my life for the last 7years...if i see that same sun from 'my' same spot at the back of the pack for my 8th EF & its from Pt Gawler again...so be it...i wldnt change it for the world

I agree totally here!!! I hardly danced at all that night coz when I did my 'special' state had me feeling like I was falling down a whole lot

True-i didnt mean what i said in ANY derogotory manner to the EF crew! & apologies if any1 has read it that way! they're lords for making EF happen!! what i was meaning was they prob wld like to offer us all somehwere new but are severly limited with options due to the reasons we all know about.

i think they are goin go to be hesitant having a rave at pt.Gawler especially with all the new drug testing - people will be to scared to drive there, AND it will look bad on their name

How about at Elder park? Or the Festival Theatre? That'd be awesome.

id still like the adelaide uni, but thats because us uni students can get everywhere in there after hours, and there are some nice arse chill spots in some of the buildings
