...I can remember the first 24 petrol pump in Adelaide it was in North Adelaide I think.

It used to take 20cent peices like a candy machine!

Of course pertrol was 40cents a litre or something back then...
E'n
I used to get 50cent off my mum to buy hoy chips at lunch what you'd now pay $2.50 or more for now.
And petrol well aren't we being ripped off

I tell ya what, kids these days are getting smart..

Reebok Pumps, remember those? was never lucky enough to have a pair, but did have a pair of Reeboks that people thought that they were pumps, same pair of shoes the Sydney Kings wore in the early early 90s
Davin
That would probably explain why every time we went, there was no pizza left only seconds after they brought out a whole stack of them LOL
Harley
I used to love ninja turtles!!! use to hammer that game heaps especially when i took all the cans and bottles back and my dad used to give me the money. It used to be down the fish shop and go nuts on the games.

Also the Atari 2600! Yeah i still have it with many games hahahahahahahaha

I still have my hand-held game (Turtle Bridge) that came out in the early 80s (same time as Donkey Kong)... ** me thinks to the days at school (Grade 4) when all you did was play your game and then swap with all of your friends**

Mine was only a single screen game - if you had the double screen games you were an absolute legend tongue.gif

I have "Here's Johnny" Cassingle, all my friends at scholl teased me when I bought it...

Some of them are now ravers.... and hardcore nuts at that.

Ha! Who has the last laugh now?!?!
Davinr
Hey, I'd almost forgotten about the hammering people used to get for listening to electronic music. In 89 I started an apprenticeship as a mechanic, and I used to get so much shit for listening to an acid house tape I was given. I used to park right down the bottom of the car park so I could crank it at lunch time hehe
nickdubr
try working on the waterfront. in 92/93, all my workmates thought i was a drug taking, raver homosexual. the ones who used to call me a fag where all playing footy for port magpies or port districts, they ALL would shower together after the game, and they ALL had waxed legs to "make the tape come off easy".
now the majority of them all take pills and listen to comercial dance, and think that they are hardcore - and they still wax their legs and shower together!!
which reminds me of the funniest thing i have ever heard a footy player say. he was talking about team morale, and the line was, "we are going to pull together, come together." laugh.gif laugh.gif blink.gif ohmy.gif

Must see if i can find that now....
Jean-paulr
I'm so old school (or maybe just old) i can remember when:
Jeans were dark blue or light blue and nothing else.
Cassette players in cars was an added sales feature.
XTC was the name of a band.
Java was a type of coffee.
Windows were things you snuck out of at night.
Sick meant you were ill.
and Black and White films was the way they came not some art nouveau thing.

My Uncle Don used to live next to the chick on Channel Niners with Winky Dink on Sturt Street in the City. She lived at 154 Sturt Street, Adelaide. But I never got to meet her!!! Aparently she made heaps of noise some nights having parites etc. Crack up! Who wouldn't! Remember the tune that they'd play when they did the roll of everyone who had had a birthday? Saturday something or other...I used to love that tune but I can't quite remember it...I get it mixed up with De La Soul's 'Saturday'. Bugger. Does anyone remember how it went?
