Christmas.anthems

christmas.anthems monday.december.25

This Christmas night, Monday December 25, anthems touches down at The Arkaba for the first time ever, with two arenas of old school fun. Not just the best Classic Tracks, you’ll also get a festive helping of new tunes hot off the press as we roll out the New School vs Old School battles. DJs Andy J, Davin, Devious, H-Bomb, John Doe, Maestro D, MPK, Mr S, Skot Holder and Slide crank up the Christmas spirit in true anthems style.

So when you’ve finished opening the presents and visiting enough relis to last another year, kick back with a night of old school anthems from 9pm. Tickets at the door for $35... so get in and grab a Christmas present that beats a pair of socks any day!

Don’t get stuck talking to Grandma about your 3rd cousin’s new bingo friends, finish off Christmas night with more anthems than we’ve ever jammed into our favourite old school venue at the Ark!

I'm going. Just the question of how I'm gonna make it from Gulfview Heights to Arkaba. Do buses run on public holidays???

Lets make Blake, Santa for the night!

I'll be there I think. I'm just hoping work doesnt roster me to do a 00:01 shift on Boxing Day. That would suck ass big time...

which reminds....see "question thread"

u better be there!

exactly what I was thinking....

thats so unlike you!

Sounds good to me, I dont celebrate christmas at all, I hate it.. too much family stuff...

However I'll be able to celebrate to old school and new school music.... sounds like a better celebration to me =)

Will we see the anthems smilie with a christmas hat this year?

i didn't realise this was on christmas day.

could be cool, easy way to get over a hang over would be to play with all my christmas toys in the morning/when i wake up

you should come along and meet some of the team. always nice to see friendly new faces

yeah, i am sort of friends with morpheus, he introduced me to this place.

old skool is definetly my sort of thing.

sort of friends with Morpheus......you poor bugga

Just jokes....any friend of JP's is a friend of ours See you there

Yeah for sure come along and get morph to intro you around at the next event. Thats all i did think i spotted foonji and he did the whirlwind introduction tour at venus one night.

I thank you Davin very much!!!!!!!!! I've got a big day with my 2 children then there dad is having them that evening so it'll take my mind off of missing them!!! I can't wait its gonna b an awesome christmas!

....would be so nice to meet some new faces at christmas.anthems everyone bring your friends

this is gonna be such a great xmas

I'm there! With bells on!! LITTERALLY!!

everyone should go!!!

yay so you will be there shen

I'm really hoping I can make it. Other than family...what better way to celebrate Xmas than with all the people I've come to love and like. MWAHS!!!

Am I getting you all tanked or AM I GETTING YOU ALL TANKED!!!!

we're definitely going - the perfect excuse to leave the rellie bashes early and therefore cut short the mess that is christmas - not to mention dance off all that christmas food!

Can't believe how close it is - where did the last few months go??!!!

i ate them.

i was hungry.

typical!!! cris p the month muncher....

about that christmas anthems hey??!!!

I shall most definately be there means i can disappear from my family mid afternoon in preparation

oh your one of those that takes 4 hours to get ready types?

do you know what youre wearing on the night yet?

hahaha it could take even longer cris

any excuse to evade the family

You shoulndt need to prepare, If oldies have to make us endure Christmas celebrations, then they should do all the preparing haha...

Hope i can make it to this one!

i wouldnt mind going to this! would be fun i remember going to tiesto on christmas 4 years ago i think it was. couldnt sit still all through christmas dinner as i was so excited.

I second that, and seeing as we'll be at the same God-awful rellie bash there's damn good reason for getting out early.....and Xmas anthems seems like a perfect excuse to me

...see you all under the mistletoe

we're getting U tanked!!

Sangaman - predrinks @ mine (1 minute walk to ark)

it doesnt take much for me to get tanked. I cant drink as well as I used to

i know wut u mean,,,
me neither...

ok, at this stage. im working till 12 on christmas day.

i would like to do somthing for lunch.. but i could be free that night. i wont be staying long due to a 7:30am start for work on boxing day.

paul/davin can u let me knwo wat i can do to help.

thanks.

tis true

Yeah...I gotta wait to see the roster for that day as well. I might be rostered 00:01 on Boxing Day and wont make it

We'll be there!!! With bells on....Xmas ones even

what can you do to help? tell your boss to jam those vile hours, and come party with us

just bells.......sweeeeet

hasnt he already done that once?

so excited! will be a good night

i wish i coudl hun!

id also love to recreate the orphans (/anti christmas) chrissy party! but this year.. i fear my prior actions have taken toll on my recreational season

and yes i did.. in rather flamboyant fashion at the work place chrissy party..

staff members still ask/talk about it

Isnt it great waiting for rosters.... I have no idea how stuffed up my xmas is gonna be

haha shen is a cadbury.... glass and a half

This post has been edited by Glenn: Dec 12 2006, 02:23 PM

i got no excuse not to come - tickets - check - 22nd to the 2nd off - check!! Bring it!!!!

I don't mean to pester but i was just wonderin whether or not you'll b sending me free tickets 4 anthems christmas day?

LOL... no!

Buy some quick at the early bird price!!!! Otherwise you my find your nanna snoring on your shoulder with dribble and dentchers on your top, while the rest of us rock on!!!

just came back from the future... i see alot of very very drunk DJ`s at this..

the way it should be!!

very excited - got all my crew coming.. bring.it.on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahaha.. same days off as u

Damn u ppl with mandatory days off!!!

it's not cuz it means less annual p.a.
for me anyway..
it's compulsory dammit
not complaining tho.. i need the days off...

yeah i am off from the 21st--- jan 4th or 8th

but 27,28,29 are compulsory!!!

hmmm...still not sure if I'm coming or not despite having them off.

and y not?

....actually neither am i... not sure..

u will both be coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why aren't you going?

My key issue is money. Sang is very poor these days especially after today. Xmas shopping is a financial killer.

But the line-up is looking very good; especially when we'll/they'll be using both levels of the Arkaba with diff styles in each. So tempting tho.

im going!!!!!!!

as am i..

but wont be sticking round for long!!

dam 10 hrs work on boxing day!

AHHHHH i hate being poor...... the perfect escape from Family do and i miss out

stop eating, drinking and having fun..... then save and come out

? what does that mean

it means they will be drunk and having fun...

as they should!

More like sexymas anthems, before11 tickets and all :3

This post has been edited by HardstyleGirl: Dec 15 2006, 09:37 AM

^^*not gonna happen, but dont tell oldskoolie that*

Looking forward to this one!

I won't be having a full-on night .. if I'm still there by 1 or 2am I'll be very surprised.

I will of course be there to catch up with everyone and enjoy a few drinks at the very least though

the word 'naked' is missing.

"(would it persuade you if we got mistletoe and pretty NAKED girls?)"

but girls with clothes on leaves much to the imagination

ok ...

would it persuade you if we got mistletoe and pretty girls wearing MINIMAL REVEALING TEASING clothing?

i have my self convinced....IM SO THERE!
and if there are none of these girls....then there is still drunk Mich to hit on

This post has been edited by missvixen: Dec 17 2006, 04:10 PM

im going to bed to rest my poor legs

night

It was an absolutely awesome night. I would dare say it was the best anthems event to end the year. Upstairs was the room to be. Loved it all especially when Devious and MPK hit the decks.

last nite cranked so hard guys it was great.

i know i left early but it was hard being up to get presents at 530am after all it was present day

had a wicked time last nite guys the 2 rooms absolutly rocked cant wait for the next one hope we get both again it was awesome

love u all so much- anthems another sucess i hope- up there with the top three----- stuff it its tops oh yes it is nice work everyone

Agreed! Last night rocked.... 2 rooms in the ark was wicked and i hope we can do more events like that. Atmosphere was great and of corse full of all the wicked people that frequent anthems events members and non members alike. I will rate this in my best night out in a while and that includes summer enchanted was just a great atmosphere.

hell yeah!

definatly was a good one!!

such a good vibe!! and downstairs was a great addition to the event! awesome room!

cranked hard 2 davs set......

anthems events need more freeform!
Adagio 4 Strings!!! F*ck yeah!!

cant wait for the next one!

MOST PHOTOS SHOULD BE UP BY THE END OF THE WEEK GUYS!

This post has been edited by missvixen: Dec 27 2006, 12:56 AM

OMG it was so awsome lol, ha ha was downstairs all night, such awsome music all night not one song was bad. ha ha too bad the walk to town afterwoods resulted in both me and my friend getting assulted by bottle carrying hooligans and my friend getting nearly knocked out by the bottle and me ending up with a bottle breaking showering me in glass, ha ha oh well we got our lift into town by the coppers for our witness statements. but aye what matters is had a great time at anthems and cant wait till the next one for sure. keep up the good work to all the anthems crew

- jobby

well we had a great time too! the second room is great and i hope we see it again sometime this year. great tunes, great people and lots of laughter i like it!

here's cheers to all the anthems crew that make these events so worthwhile

Can't believe I missed anthems...

We were at my Father-in-laws till pretty late then my husband was having too much fun at my Aunty's with my Uncles and cousins I couldn't drag him away from my family...

I can't believe my kids stayed up till early hours of the morning with my husband building the pirate ships Santa gave them.

Sounds like I missed a good one too...
Glad everyone had fun xoxxox

It was pretty good... the second room is a great addition, was a little bright but great tunes nontheless. Should remain there now.

Whats with that place and fire alarms!!! hehe

i do agree that the lighting in sporty's could have been more "ambient", but then again there are beautiful people to see in the light

hehehe - are the anthems events so hot that they kick off the fire alarms?

Nah - it's just you Tobes!!!

BTW, I can't believe we missed you!!!! Fell asleep on the couch after being stuffed full of ham & turkey, woke up at midnight, downed a couple of Redbulls & made it in time for a couple of hours on the dancefloor.... Well worth it!

Fire alarms in the downstairs toilet too...
Where were the hot firemen?

as i was leaving i heard all the fire alarms even saw fire engines out the side, but wat was it all for?

false alarms?? or was there an issue,

as we certainly wherent getting evacuated!

Not sure, a huge bunch of people came to the downstairs room when it happened, were the decks stopped upstairs cos they just kept playing downstairs?

Maybe someone was smokin in the toilets?

teehee thanks tara but it sounds like the alarms didn't go off until after you got there ... coincidence? I don't think so ...

why cant you believe that?

woulda done the same thing as a kid!

yes it was. they are the night lights
and i dont think the ark realised how bright they would be

we want them reduced for next time too, but whether we can is another story

was great to see everyone

the night lights? hehe aren't night lights meant to be those dull lights for kids? they were vvverrry bright

Good night out though

I thouroughly enjoyed watching all the munters leaving at closing time - twas heaps funny

that would be the second anthems @ the ark that we've set off the fire alarms

top form crew!!

hahaha, yeah but then again they did fall asleep in the car between each stop.. it's a big day for them...

I guess all that chocolate helped them along lol...

Yes you did miss out but I hope you had a great day babe. There's always next time.

Also I thought you were going to be there that night, so I asked every blonde girl I saw if she was on anthems or whether her screen name was Livinitup. Should have seen the funny looks I got but ended up making new friends as well

ahh...the pretty faces

THERE ARE NOW PHOTOS IN THE GALLERY!

> > Clicky Clicky < <

MORE WILL BE ADDED THROUGH THE WEEK SO DONT FORGET TO KEEP CHECKING BACK

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GOOD TIME!!

This post has been edited by missvixen: Dec 27 2006, 08:52 PM

What a great night

definately my BEST anthems EVER!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all my beautiful mates who helped make the night a great one
and also to the great DJs excellent performance as usual

Big Fat Boo! to whoever set off the fire alarm i asked the security what was going on and he told me someone set off the fire alarm deliberately to be a idiot
PS i saw the firies i think there was like 1 hot one

i read that as 'i saw the fires, and there was like 1 hot one'

i was like ...serious? a hot fire?

Karma!! The security camera got footage of who it was and its been handed over to the police to recover the costs involved with a false alarm pending an investigation. Id hate to have to pay that!! Its not cheap!!

We finished with the freeform version of Adagio by K Komplex... playing at plus 16, and everyone kept up cranking hard to the very end haha. Well done you crazy buggers

I want a crowd like you guys every time

HILARIOUS serves them right for interupting the beats

was great seeing you guys!!!
fukin awesome crew!

specially sharon, mich, tobes, glenn.. didnt catch up with ya`s enough tho!

had a frakin blast as always!

hahaha I did say that didn't I ... had all intentions of it too.
Too much food.... too much alcohol... and kids that just partied all night long...

Ur a classic...
so it wasn't such a bad thing then... maybe guys will start using it as a pick up line LOL... Nice one

aaawwww, you can stay

Loved yours and Davins sets downstairs....I spent nearly all night down there, so fanx man, you rocked my sox

Time to reflect...

Christmas anthems was a decent night...

One complaint though - the smoke machines...I ended up having a mini asthma attack and had to leave after throwing up in the toilets from coughing too much That sucked hard...I wasn't ready to leave...

Also did anyone else get the feeling that the alcohol just wasn't getting you drunk? Could have just been me...But I drank alot And was sober all night...

I enjoyed everything that I heard and everyone that I saw

Hopefully next time I won't get sick...

Top job anthems crew *thumbs up*

Yeah i had a ball.... after my early night spit!!!!

was awesome hanging out with ya ben and cheers for doing me that favour

It was a sweet ass night... my only complaint- where was the encore?!?!
even the alarm added a wee touch of excitement.... gotta have the excitement. Enjoy

was good to see you and fil again - far too long between hellos IMO!!! not sure about that "you're one of my old favourites" comment earlier in the night - kids these days!!

For the time we were there I had a ball and big up's to the second room - bring it out again - lights didn't bother me one bit. *shrugs* it's all about the music afterall.

not at all sorry we missed the fire alarm this time round!

Bloddy Sweet night. Must thank Mad Rave a for taken me.
Good to see alot of old face out on the dance floor.

Although didn't stay all night i had a great night.
