I've noticed a few people making up poems for anthems and that gave me an idea for a new thread!
Poems! Good or bad, clean or dirty (within reason of course) wink.gif

So c'mon people lets see how creative you are or if you've heard some good ones!

I found this poem that someone once gave me and thought I'd share it with everyone as I thought it was a well written and an interesting poem!

'Miss Heroin'

So now little man you've grown tired of weed
All that damn acid, cocaine and speed
And someone pretending that they are your friend
Said "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin!"
'Well honey before you start messing with me,
Let me just tell you of how it will be.
For I will seduce you and make you my slave
Believe me I've sent better men to their graves.
You think you could never become a disgrace
And end up addicted to my poppy seed waste.
You'll start by experimenting one afternoon
And fall asleep in my arms very soon
And then when you have me deep in your veins,
The cravings will drive you nearly insane!
You'll need lots of money as you have been told
For darling I'm more expensive than gold.
You'll swindle your mother just for a buck
And turn into someone vile and corrupt.
You'll mug and you'll steal for the narcotic charm
And feel so content when I'm in your arm.
Then you'll realise the monster inside you has grown
And you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone.
Then if you think it's that easy and you've got the knack
Then sweetie try getting me off your back!
The vomit, the cramps, your gut in a knot
The jangling nerves screaming for just one more shot
The hot chills, the cold sweat, the withdrawal pains
Can only be saved by my little white grains.
So now you'll turn ( as I foretold )
And I know that you'll give me your body and soul.
You'll give me your morals, your conscience, your heart
And now you are mine, till death do us part!'

So c'mon people lets hear 'em....

Ooooh - sent a shiver up my spine....

Perhaps the government should get schoolkids to read this in conjunction with watching "Requiem for A Dream" - guaranteed to put you off heroin for life.

party popper
Ha ha! Nice one Davin!
Can't wait to party with you either at anthems!

How about this one.....

There's the crystal
Through the window
Like the tears in your eyes.
There's the temper
In your shadow
Like the lightening in the skies.
There's the warmth of your soul
Like a soft summer breeze
There's the gentleness
of your touch
That makes me feel at ease.
There's the glisten in your eyes
Like the velvet light of the moon
There's the harshness
Of too much
Like the jagged mist in June.
There's the sweetness
Of your lips
Like the candy from a store.
There's the frustration
You can't miss
Like the sand upon the shore.
Then there's our
Endless love together
Like a tidal wave at sea
Where our dreams drift on forever
Like our friendship was meant to be!!!

To all my friends new and old out there!!!! biggrin.gif

Ravers! Dance!

Have you ever watched ravers
as they're coming on down?
Or dropped a bag
and searched on the ground?
Ever reached for the strobe while you're mid flight?
Or put on your sunnies as the sun steals the night?

Don't ever come down
Ravers! Dance fast!
The night is short
and the music won't last

Do you go through each Sunday
Still on a high
and when asked, "How are you?"
You say "brain go bye bye"
When the Sunday is done
are your eyes still all black?
You've got work tomorrow
and you still are off tap.

Don't ever come down
Ravers! Dance fast!
The night is short
and the feeling wont last.

Ever told yourself
I wont do this again?
And found yourself cranking it
the very next weekend.
Ever lost touch
Let a good friendship die?
And then realised they were crap
just an off your face lie.

Don't ever come down
Ravers! Dance fast!
The night is short
and your glow stick wont last.

When your heart beats so fast
Cause you've just dropped your last
You've got so many friends here
They'll spot you don't fear.
Life is a race
and you are a raver
Feel the music
Before the dance party is over.

Here's an old christmas poem a friend sent me in a christmas card a few years ago!

T'was the night before christmas
And all through the house
Everybody felt shitty
Even the mouse

Mum at the whorehouse
And dad smoking grass
I'd just settled down
For a nice piece of ass

When out on the lawn
I heard such a clatter
I sprung from my piece
To see what was the matter

Then out on the lawn
I saw a big dick
I knew in a moment
It must be Saint Nick

He came down the chimney
Like a bat out of hell
I knew in a moment
The f#@*er had fell

He filled all our stockings
With pretzels and beer
And a big rubber dick
For my brother the queer

He rose up the chimney
With a thunderous fart
The son of a bitch
Blew the chimney apart

He swore and he cursed
As he rose out of sight
Piss on you all
And have a hell of a night!

Ha Ha!!! laugh.gif tongue.gif

Not a Hero

The ANZAC Day march was over - the old Digger had done his best.
His body ached from marching - it was time to sit and rest.
He made his way to a park bench and sat with lowered head.
A young boy passing saw him - approached and politely said,
"Please sir do you mind if I ask you what the medals you wear are for?
Did you get them for being a hero, when fighting in a war?"

Startled, the old Digger moved over and beckoned the boy to sit.
Eagerly the lad accepted - he had not expected this!
"First of all I was not a hero," said the old Digger in solemn tone,
"But I served with many heroes, the ones that never came home.
So when you talk of heroes, it's important to understand,
The greatest of all heroes gave their lives defending this land.

"The medals are worn in their honour, as a symbol of respect.
All diggers wear them on ANZAC Day - it shows they don't forget."
The old digger then climbed to his feet and asked the boy to stand.
Carefully he removed the medals and placed them in his hand.
He told him he could keep them - to treasure throughout his life,
A legacy of a kind - left behind - paid for in sacrifice.

Overwhelmed the young boy was speechless - he couldn’t find words to say.
It was there the old Digger left him - going quietly on his way.
In the distance the young boy glimpsed him - saw him turn and wave goodbye.
Saddened he sat alone on the bench - tears welled in his eyes.
He never again saw him ever - but still remembers with pride,
When the old Digger told him of Heroes and a young boy sat and cried.

Twas the night before christmas,
He lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house, made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney, with presents to give,
And to see just who, in this home did live.
I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by mantle, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.
With medals and badges, awards of all kinds,
A sober thought came through my mind.
For this house was different, it was dark and dreary,
I found this home of a soldier, once I could see clearly.
The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor, in this one bedroom home.
The face was so gentle, the room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured, an Australian soldier.
Was this the hero, of whom I'd just read?
Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed.
I realized the families, that I saw this night,
Owed their lives to these soldiers,
Who were willing to fight.
Soon round the world, the children would play,
And grownups would celebrate a bright christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom, each month of the year,
Because of the soldiers, like the one lying here.
I couldn't help wonder, how many lay alone,
On a cold christmas eve, in a land far from home.
The very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to my knees and started to cry.
The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice,
"Santa don't cry this life is my choice,
I fight for freedom I don't ask for more,
My life is my god, my country, my corp".
The soldier rolled over and drifted to sleep,
I couldn't control it, I continued to weep.
I kept watch for hours, so silent and still,
And we both shivered from the cold nights chill.
I didn't want to leave on that cold, dark night,
This guardian of honor so willing to fight.
Then the soldier rolled over, with a voice so soft and pure,
Whispered, "Carry on Santa, it's christmas day, all is secure".
One look at my watch and I knew he was right,
"Merry christmas my friend and to all a good night".

This poem was written by a peacekeeping soldier stationed overseas somewhere.

Went to a party mum

I went to a party and remembered what you said
You told me not to drink mum, so I had a sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself. The way you said I would
That I didn't drink and drive, though some of my friends said I should.
I made a healthy choice, and your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended and the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car, sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming mum, something I expected least.
Now I'm lying on the pavement and I hear the police say,
"The kid that caused this wreck was drunk", Mum his voice seems far away.
My own bloods all around me, as I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say "This girl is going to die"
I'm sure the guy had no idea while he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive, now I would have to die.
So why do people do it mum, knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me like a hundred stabbing knives.
Tell sister not to be afraid mum. Tell daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven, put 'Mummy's girl' on my grave.
Someone should have taught him that it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had, I'd be still alive.
My breath is getting shorter mum, I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments and I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me mum, As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say "I love you mum"
So I love you and goodbye!

.....the sunset was crimson
a sight to behold
it was the start of a winter
of everlasting cold
there was an end to the fighting
the silence rang true
last mission accomplished
though survivors were few
no time to regret though
the light's fading fast
a destiny has been chosen
humanities' time may well be past....

Spewin Buph that you lost your poems! It would've been good to hear some in here.
Nice poem Jiriki! Simple and yet says so much. I like!

A Fairly long Poem by prehaps my favorite poet, Saul Williams

Amethyst rocks
what i got, Come and get some (get on up) hustler of culture
i stand on the corner of the block slingin' amethyst rocks
drinkin' 40s of mother earths private nectar stock

doging cops, cause five-0 are the 666
and i need a fix of that purple rain
the type of shit that drives membranes insane

oh yes im in the fastlane snorting... candy yams
that free my body and soul and send me like Shazam!

never question who i am, god knows
and i know god personally
in fact, he lets me call him me

i be one with rain and stars and things, dancing feet and watermellon wings
i bring the sunshine and the moon and the wind blows my tune
Meanwhile
i spoon powdered drum beats into plastic bags
sellin' kilos of kente scag

Takin' drags of collards and cornbread
free-basing through saxophones and flutes like mad
the high notes make space float
i be exhalin in rings that circle saturn
leaving stains in my veins in astrological paterns

It goes on but i cant be farked typing the rest now tongue.gif

Here's a few of my recent poems:

Without You

Every second without you is wasted.
Every minute without you is depressing.
Every hour without you is torture.
Every day without you is a nightmare.
Every week without you is a tragedy.
Every month without you is a catastrophe.
Every year without you is… Actually it isn’t.

The Language of Love

I’d just like to erase all this and start again,
Make sure this time, my decisions are the ones I truly want,
Making sure that the left turns are made right,
Because I don’t want to see this opportunity go by again.

No more lying to myself, no more lying to you,
No more of my games and no more of my jokes,
I just want to make sure that I don’t lose you,
I don’t want to have to say goodbye, not again, not ever.

I’m not sure that you understand, I don’t know if I do,
But all that’s important right now is that I make this choice,
No stuttering, no hesitation, I’m dedicating myself to this decision,
This decision made right now, right here.

Its taken me so long to say it, but what I did was a mistake,
I now know that I shouldn’t have turned my back,
I now know I shouldn’t have said goodbye and walked the other way,
My heart says I was wrong, and my heart knows you were right.

I’m a new man, but you’re still the girl I loved,
And I know you always will be that girl,
That love will never be lacking, never be weak,
Because now I speak the language of love, and I understand your heart.

An Unholy Sacrifice (Without Good Reason)

I seem to crave insanity,
Even though I beg for it to leave,
I keep making these choices,
Which cause me to grieve.

An oblivion of Madness
beckons,
I can feel my legs taking me there,
I want to turn the other way,
Away from the pain and despair.

My journey seems predetermined,
Even though I’ve made no decision,
The sanity I crave seems to fade,
And flaws are revealed in my vision.

Beyond my comprehension,
My life seems to desire complexity,
Beyond my understanding,
My life seems to yearn for perplexity.

I’ve given up trying to fathom it,
I’ve lost all hope of finding what’s lost,
I may as well sacrifice myself,
Let my cold heart succumb to the frost.

The burning flame of love,
The warming heat of life,
Why must it be absent,
Why must it all lead to strife.

It hardly seems worth it,
To stick around and bear it,
I’m going to take this chance,
And say to those who have these things,
Remember to share it.

Something’s Over, Something’s Just Beginning

The end of an era is drawing near,
something different is just around the bend,
nobody knows where they’ll end up,
nobody knows where it’s going to end..

Many people say,
they want to say goodbye,
when all I want to do,
is go and say hi.

Its not about sinking into the horizon,
its about rising the next day,
no longer following the crowd,
its time to go your own way.

We’ve all got a path to follow,
but first we must seek,
find the one paved with gold,
leading us to our peak.

Now as the light beckons thee,
to where your life will lead,
follow with high hopes,
and strive to succeed.

Bye for now,
good luck with what you choose,
I don’t know where you’re going,
But you’ve got nothing to lose.

Give it your all… Good luck.

Turbulencer
Wrote this after a bad break-up..

I can’t stand all this pain
As it rains
My heart strains
As I stare at the wall
From my bed
Feeling dead

If you think that I suck
Well I don’t give a frak
Coz I’m tired of this shit
Every day I feel sick

If you need some one there
Well I don’t really care
Coz I’m nothing to you
And I tell you it’s true

So I can’t be your friend
This truth aint gonna bend
So just don’t even try
Coz I’m sick of the lies

If you think that I’m Stubborn
And think I’m a prick
Then you really don’t know
When you don’t want to think

Coz I’m not gonna ever be your friend
I don’t need none of them
If you try to be nice
Just know it won’t dice
All the names I remember
That you’ve screamed out at me
Well they bell in my ears
My heart screams out my fears

Every day that I tried
All I got was just lies
And the anger from you
Wit you saying we’re through

Coz you think you do betta
With some other fella
As you bragging to me
Like I can’t even see

And all of your pals
Spreading shit about me
You believe all their lies
And trust all the bullshit
They pull till your mind is full

Well I’m going insane
And I’m pulling my hair
The blood boils in my brain
And my hearts burst in flames

So I won’t look at you
No I won’t think of you
And I wish that I knew
What to do about you
