Anyone remember Galaxy? The go go girls in cages suspended from the ceiling, those silver doors and the sort of corridor thing you had to walk down to get into the place (at least that's how I remember it). I think Brendon used to play there, one of his first gigs I think. Galaxy was my introduction to the "scene", great little club...back when clubbing and the scene in general still had some meaning.

know where it was but never went there , very seedy looking entrance on hindley, yeah?

i remember galaxy

it always seemed to struggle due to the competion around the corner. It was called soemthing else pbefore that?
toucan ?? or something??

geez! i was like... not even 10!! haha... but yeah.. never even heard of it.. but sounds pretty awesome.. i like the idea of go go girls in suspended cages!

Don't know about seedy entrance? There were big silver doors at the entrance, but I don't think it was all that seedy, not from what I remember anyway.

I think the Toucan was somewhere else? not sure though. I do remember Galaxy didn't go for that long, like you said competition and such...but it was a great little club. Were you there when they had that carnival night? people on unicycles riding through the crowd, jugglers, kaleidoscope projections on the walls etc, it was a good night.

hahahah yeah I was 18 when I was going to Galaxy, was my first introduction to the scene...didn't really become an "established member" until Control though

perhaps I am thinking of toucan...............entrance was down a black painted cavity.....too long ago!

it was the toucan. The scally's and i used to walk in there trolleyed for a few songs and then onto lerox. Remember one night we went crazy in there and grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed it all over the dance floor, actually we did that at lerox once as well. Toucan never really had the crowds but sound system was good from memory.

OMG Toucan was downstairs on Hindley St yeah? I do remember trying to get in one night and they said someone let a fire extinguisher - just remember the galaxy though - through that misted haze...
