The first rave (or "warehouse party" as they were called then) I went to was W2 at the old East End Markets, on NYE 89/90. I had missed Warehouse 1 only months before and was spewing that I was going to miss out on the whole "warehouse" thing, like I'd missed the whole "aciiiiid" thing when I failed to go out for a couple of weeks in a row. The whole smiley-faced T-shirt and bandana ensemble was binned before I got to wear it. I do remember "The Reels" playing, who are hardly "ravey". I don't remember the other DJs who played, but back then the biggest DJs in Adelaide were Steve Hooper and James Ingram and that Jules from McMahon's Tonsley
(Nick's better half)

I didn't go to Warehouse 2 (even though I could have got hold of some tickets, criminal I know). But I went to Warehouse 1. This was before the East End had been redeveloped, so it had a real abandoned warehouse feel.

I remember them going beserk with the smoke machine -- WHITE OUT!!

And I remember Colette singing her single "Ring My Bell" (what a sad thing to remember).
