People of anthems, lend me your ears and opinions! I've had a bit more time on my hands recently; so i've been working on some artistic projects of mine. One of these in particular is a strip that i'm hoping to post up on the internet as a web comic. So without much further ado, here's the first page. It's called 'Y?'...

ps. i promise it makes sense later on. lol

there is definitely some artistic talent there, quite well drawn.

as for the speach bubbles, yeah, they make no sense at all!

I figure because the comic doesn't make sense to anyone yet I'll just wait until more are out before I try to fix the jibberish script problem

hehe...fantastic...i've confused you all...and the reason it's called Y? is that the comic centers around the trials and tribulations in the world of my age group...which is generation y... it's just a play on words... and march, how can you love it, it's hardly started!

ps. inking second page as i write this... all will be revealed

That'd be it.

.. I don't know if you're open to constructive criticism or not, ike - so I'll type up my finger words without first asking.

.. I think (for me, at least) having a comic strip means that each installment is punchy and interesting in it's own way, as well as playing a small part in the bigger story.

In another words; you shouldn't have to explain to readers "it will make sense later on", so they stay tuned to see the next installment. Each strip should make people not only enjoy it, but want to see what happens next.

That way people are saying "I read this comic strip because it's interesting, punchy, makes sense in terms of the bigger pictures, and keeps me wanting more", not "I read this comic strip because at some point in the near future the penny will drop and it may end up being really good".

Personally, I'm neither interested in the current installments or compelled to see the next ones - mainly because individually they don't make a stack of sense. On the other hand; your drawing skills are well wicked

and I was kinda waitting to see how long it would be before you put this comic together (I remember talking with you about it a while ago)

Personally I like it, I like reading comics that dont make much sence but I guess part of it is I know that some where along the line it will make sence...

... and cheers justin; you've pretty much voiced the exact concerns i had about this beginning....see, i'm more used to writing complete stories and articles, and this strip style of prose is quite new to me... so bear with me, it'll get there in the end... don't be so impatient

that said, it's often a prevailing trend in web comic strips and the like to have outrageous and semi-plausible plots simply to build reader interest, and that's something i'm trying to avoid... but thanks all for your opinions and compliments, it's been much appreciated...
