Trade Person Thread

Not sure if there has been a thread started before and if there has slap me in the back of the head and give me a beer to think straight

Here we can recomend trade people like plumbers, sparkys etc.... to help around the house or what ever. Me been a home owner i would like to know of some good no dodgey people that are willing to help.

I need to get a plumber out to have a look and tell me where the water is leaking in the laundry as i think a pipe mite be cracked in the walls. So if you know of anyone decent lets us no. Also if you know of any other good trade people post them up here so we can use it as a reference if any of us need some one good

dav knows a great plumber... he has done a bit of work for us and we very happy with him, we about to have him back to put in our new toilet. older man, very very thorough. ill get you the name and number today

I'm so glad you started this thread Harley!! We've just bought our first place & engaged a few tradies, who have just been AWESOME!!!

Did the floor in our garage for us, very cheap, very quick, turns up when he says he's going to and phones if he can't! The floor is absolutely perfect, to the extent that we can actually use the shed as another room, as opposed to just a storage area.

As you may know from my ranting in other threads, we had a go at sanding the floors ourselves, got a fair way through & decided it was time to call in the professionals! Ash actually charged us less, because we'd done a fair bit of work already (unlike some others I got to quote who wanted to charge us MORE, claiming we'd stuffed it up because we were amateurs!!) Again - very cheap, very friendly & professional and the floors look AMAZING

Can anyone recommend a carpenter? We're planning on buying a cheap second-hand kitchen & will be needing a retro-fitout at some point....

hm we do ceilings and plasterboard walls, mostly commercial stuff like shop fitouts etc, but during the off season our company does pick up some residential work.

Im after to buy some tiles for my kitchen and bathroom. Does any1 know any where you can buy them at wholesale prices or where to get factory seconds? Im going to go shop hunting this weekend so if you know of any be great to hear.

does anyone know of a fridge mechanic / repairer who will come to your house?

we have a fridge freezer, freezer works and is full of food, fridge needs fixing. so because its full of food, we don't really wanna have to take it to a repair shop!!

Lol... I may do actually... I'll just find out if he comes to the house but I have bad feeling he only does business ones. I'll get back to you asap.
