seems resonable , but does it work and what about fuel economy??

in a nutshell, they basically tell your ECU that the air is cooler than it actually is. Exactly the same as the way the engine runs on very cool mornings.

So your car may get a few more hp. I dont know how good it is for you car, probably not that good at all.

sounds sketchy!

Yep, that's about right.

Car will run faster than normal, but it will also run hotter than normal - which doesn't bode well for the wear and tear on the car .. we have cooling for a reason, etc.

(Having said that; I doubt it'd cause that big of an increase in temperature that you'd notice anything out of the ordinary.)

anyone ever fitted one?

Yeah, just pop the hood - grab a handful of them and throw them at your engine .. whatever sticks, stays laugh.gif
crIs P
yeah you need special glue for that though.
Oldskoolie
apparntly its pretty easy, i like you just stick it in some wires.

Seriously though, if you want more hp, buy a horse.
jase31
does anyone have any hands on experience with these things?

I cant imagine that richening the mixture would give that much more power?
crIs P
join a car forum. probably find some better answers there.

Oldskoolie
google it..
BOOSTING
ritchening the mixture too much will actually lessen power ( if thats what this thing does) Could just be a simple ignition advencer for the sprk timing. there is a link on the ebay page to email the makers of the thing . Maybe email them and get an idea of exactly how it works. For the grand price of $9.00 american i would't be entering your car in the next clipsal thats for sure. i wouldn't bother personally you would get better gains from fitting a better flowing air filter and exhaust.

I have heard of people replacing chips in their comodores etc with huge results , but I think they may be referring to replacing the actual ECU or a chip in that , where as this thing sounds different

I think you can put chips into the ECU as well?

its only MARCIAs 2004 totota corolla so Im not forking out too much money oneeyed01.png

I remember when I used to be into cars I read a review of all these devices,
- apparently they basically didn't do shit

They were all torn open and half of them basically had no electronics inside at all

If these things really did work, everyone would have one ($5 for 25hp? thats insane)
