Myspace.com is something i've noticed that is becoming increasingly popular for the interweb junkies.

You sign up, create a profile, add pictures, add friends, create and update a blog, listen to music.... and the list goes on.
It seems to be a great place to meet people, learn about people, an introduction to new artists and bands, a great way to network for those of you who have a business, and so on.

You can really actually personalise your profile quite alot...

Its worth a look!!!

i think its pretty good, well organised and a good place for people to keep in touch and meet new people. as well as promoting yourself & or your work etc etc

Yeah I think this is the thing you sent me ages ago Oldskoolie. The phase only lasted a few days, can't really be fucked anymore lol, anthems/RA etc is the best example as a way to meet people anyway, don't need anything else!

when you select your design, there should be a box to click on that says "get the code" or something along those lines.

click that, and it will bring up the code. copy the code, then go to your my space, and in the bit where you edit your profile, find the "about me" section.

paste the code into there, and it should work

This is the 'Adelaide People' myspace, it has a virus on it. If you view the page, when the cursor turns into the hand icon, if you hold the left click button, you'll see the box outline of the hidden link. It'll take you to another page if you click it, and it will come up with log in stuff, asking for your username and password. Plenty of myspace pages have these links to get your password so they can spam bulletins and crap. Dont log in, just avoid their page.

I don't see how people can get addicted to myspace though

Thieves are stealing myspace profiles left and right so they can spam other people. In some cases, they steal more than just your profile.


HERE'S HOW:

They post a message, bulletin, or comment containing a link to somewhere, maybe buying a stupid GUCCI bag or a worthless $500 Macy's card or that dumbass IPOD Iphone ad, or ringtones or another dating site on and on and on, today I saw a new one, a "View my Slideshow" bulletin that failed to load, came up with a "Parsing" error, if you click on the failed to load video, it's actually a link because they substituted a link to a different file type instead of the swf in order to circumnavigate the Myspace protection....

You wind up either getting infected with a SPAM bot and start spamming all your friend's comments or posting SPAM bulletins OR, without you realizing it you are automatically redirected to a different website where the thief has set up a copycat of the MySpace login page. What it looks like to you is, "Oh, stupid MySpace logged me out again." And so you enter your username and password, and bingo -- they just stole your profile. Since you were on a copycat site, it didn't log you in. It just stored the email and password you entered in a big file and now that profile thief is going to use your account to spam people.

But the danger doesn't end there. The person who stole your profile knows that you can always change your password and lock them out of your account. So now, they try to take over your profile entirely. If they see your address ends in yahoo.com or hotmail.com, they go to your e-mail login page and try to log in to your email account with the same password. Many people use the same password for their e-mail account and their MySpace profile, and if you're one of those people, now the thief has access to your e-mail, too.

Just change your password, that should solve the problem. Its a massive hassle to do it, but yeah, its the only way for your spamming bulletins to stop.
