No idea how it works now... I got my P's about 6 or so years ago and I did the log book method, where I had the instructor give me a certain amount of lessons then he signed them off then I got my P's from that. I did 6, about an hour each.

I think there are new rules now, and you have to drive a certain amount of hours.. my sister is doing the test just because its easier.. Lol

Before you can sit your test to get your licence you need 50 hours of recorded driving with a qualified instructor. So even if you just want to do the test, and not log book you still need to have the 50 hours driving practise.

Personally I think it should be competency based. My instructor has told me that getting the hours up befoe bub is born will be the hardest thing for me to do because there is nothing wrong with my driving nor my learning capabilities

Yet there's still all these f*cking idiots that have their licence and can't drive for sh*t. Someone tell me they stole their licence, please!!

My housemate's ex even admitted that she made up half of her hours, and it shows - SHE CAN'T DRIVE

I don't want to make them up, I can understand why they've done it this way. The more practice and experience, the better. And I don't want to run the chance of getting caught out, getting fined or even sent to jail.

So now I just gotta steal my mums car whenever I can lol.

Yeah but my sister has done heaps and heaps of driving.. she drives 2 hours every week to snowtown.. and then back again.. so thats 4 and she has had her Ls for like.. a year now. She also drives my car whenever i let her, and I have put up with her bunnyhopping for well over 10 hours. So I am sure she has nailed the 50.

It's easy enough to do, if you have the time. See time is of the escence for me unfortunately But I am trying!

As far as I know, the Log Book can be ticked off by a full licensed driver that takes you out for a drive. I never had to do this however, and the only way the instructors can tell if you're b*llshitting is the way you drive.

I belive only the Instructor can tick off in the log book, but with the 50hrs of driving required i thought some of this could be ticked off with a parent / fully lisenced driver?

But like hayley i got my lisence years ago...

Yes, you're right Celeste, the Log Book itself can only be officially marked off by an accredited driving instructor. You can do the lessons with someone who has a licence, but they can't be officially marked off by that person.

The hours/minutes you drive to gain 50 hours total driving experience are only recognised if the person you went driving with has had their FULL licence for more than 2 years without any disqualifications.

I am doing quite well with my driving, thanks My instructor has told me that my hardest challenge is going to be getting the 50 hours before bub is born because I don't have my own car. So I have to be borrowing my mums. And my driving instructor does NOT want me paying for lessons just because I need to get my hours up. He's really nice like that

Thats wicked, I know some driving instructors were a bit like that when we were at school, Gumps was.. although his was right because he hit a curb during his 3 point turn or something and failed
My sisters is being really feral like that saying she needs x amount of lessons even though she is going the test, which is bullocks, she can have 2 lessons if she wants so long as she passes the test at the end.

Saturday afternoon we tried to go car hunting. Though we'd look down Main North Rd and down South Rd, only to find that a majority of the places were closed.

Today we decided to go and look at a few baby places that sold furniture and prams, again, only to find that a majority of them were closed!

WTF?! What is wrong with Adelaide. For people that work during the week the weekends are the only time they have to go shopping, so wouldn't it make sense for places like these to be open on a weekend? Apparently not.

I made the mistake of going to those The things I was mainly interested in they didn't have sales on. But I managed to get some awesome cot sheets and towels for under half price.

That's absolute BS. Not all cats kill native wildlife. And even if they do, it's in their nature, they can't exactly help it. Which is why collars with bells on them are the way to go if you don't want your cat killing birds, or native wildlife as you call it. A few less magpies won't harm anyone

IMO unsupervised animals should not be thought of as "pests". That kind of attitude is extremely negative IMO.
